Via the Wall Street Journal's Capitol Bureau:
The GOP establishment has been shipping out reams of opposition research and links to negative news stories [on GOP primary candidate Christine O'Donnell]. A longtime political consultant in the state, O’Donnell was the party’s own candidate against former Sen. Joe Biden two years ago. But that hasn’t stopped the state’s party apparatus from working to slam her this time around.
State Republican Party chief Tom Ross tells the Associated Press that O’Donnell is “not a viable candidate for any office in the state of Delaware,” including dog catcher. The National Republican Senatorial Committee is also piling on, briefing reporters on negative aspects of O’Donnell’s record. She has been accused of failing to pay back taxes. There are also questions about whether she graduated from college, and whether she supported herself over the last year using campaign donations.
In reply, O’Donnell sends an email Friday to reporters and supporters, calling on her fellow Republicans “to stop the thug politics.”

Independence Day is a very emotional day for patriots. Because we know our history, we know that this nation in which we live and the incredible blessings we enjoy are an anomaly. The history of mankind is a story punctuated with soul-crushing oppression, tyranny and arbitrary rule.
Within this bleak history, and even within the world today, the United States of America stands before the world as a beacon of liberty, a land John Winthrop described nearly four centuries ago in these famous words:
For we must consider that we shall be as a City upon a hill. The eyes of all people are upon us. Soe that if we shall deal falsely with our God in this work we have undertaken, and so cause him to withdraw his present help from us, we shall be made a story and a byword throughout the world.
As it has been since our founding, the eyes of all people continue to be upon us. Mankind watches our shining city, ever unsure whether this grand experiment with liberty will continue.
The people watching our nation today might be forgiven for coming to the conclusion that America's best days are behind her. Our national and state capitols are filled to their brims with the arrogant, corrupt and self-serving. The politicians win reelection by telling the people what they want to hear, and the people return the favor by sending them back to the halls of power. We are buried in debt to foreign nations, and yet we continue to further impoverish future generations for present luxury. As the rumors of impending economic collapse continue to be whispered, those with a sense of history may be forgiven for feeling an uncanny sense of deja vu. Those of us paying attention have a feeling that hard times are coming.
And yet, as dark as things may appear, each of us knows, deep in the heart, that our situation is not without hope. America has been through worse. In the brutal winter of 1777, General Washington's army at Valley Forge was all but ready to collapse--and would have, if not for George Washington's incredible leadership. Had the Continental Army fallen apart, America's dreams of independence would have collapsed with it.
And yet, America's best days were still ahead of her.
Less than a century later, Americans would set their bayonets against one another in a bloody conflict that literally tore our young nation apart. The bloody conflict at Gettysburg in July of 1863 cost nearly thirty thousand casualties on each side over the course of only two days. Before it was over, the Civil War would cost over half a million Americans their lives. The scars of the war are still healing.
And yet, America's best days were still ahead of her.
Within another century, a worldwide economic collapse would drag our nation down. Before we could get back on our feet, the Imperial Japanese would strike our navy at Pearl Harbor, dragging us into World War II. Hundreds of thousands would pay the ultimate price during that brutal war.
And yet again, America's best days were still ahead of her.
Today, we are facing challenges that rival our darkest hours, and yet, there is reason to hope. America, after all, is populated with Americans.
Best wishes and God bless you all this Independence Day.
May we be the virtuous and peaceful people as he first described.

The new round of speech regulations promoted under the title "DISCLOSE ACT" has passed the House and is now before the U.S. Senate. Senators Charles Schumer, Russ Feingold and Patrick Leahy claim the DISCLOSE ACT is necessary to counter the influence of "special interests" on the election process:
We are part of a group of senators fighting to rein in the increased influence of special interest money this decision will unleash and save our electoral process.
To combat the new, unregulated corporate influence over elections, we just unveiled the DISCLOSE Act -- because Democracy Is Strengthened by Casting Light On Spending in Elections.
But without your support, our legislation is never going to win the day -- we need to build support all around the country, and we need your help to do it.
As President Obama has said, the Supreme Court has given "a green light to a new stampede of special interest money."
But this decision doesn't just affect elections. It has the potential to change the very way we live in America.
This new set of speech regulations has drawn a fair deal of criticism--even in Nancy Pelosi's hometown. Via the San Francisco Chronicle:

Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed HR5175, also known as the Disclose Act, by a 219-206 vote. "Disclose," you see, is an acronym for "Democracy Is Strengthened by Casting Light on Spending in Elections."
The measure's author, Rep. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., also happens to chair the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee - so you know that the bill has nothing to do with helping Democrats retain their seats. (Just kidding.)
Two Republicans voted for the measure, 36 Democrats voted against it. The bill now goes to the Senate, where it deserves to molder. This bill may have passed largely unnoticed, but if the Senate passes HR5175 as is, with its provision to activate the law in 30 days - conveniently in time for November's midterm elections but before the Federal Election Commission would have a chance to draft careful rules - voters should see this as a blatant attempt to rig the system...
"We don't really think the intent of the bill is to withstand scrutiny in the courts," said Jeff Patch of the Center for Competitive Politics.
No lie. Here's a more honest acronym for Disclose: Democrats Intend to Stifle Contrary Leanings with Selective Enforcement.
What do you think of the DISCLOSE ACT? Please share your thoughts BELOW...

and by the way the Disclosure Act should be killed in the Senate. If not, then it should be repealed when the Republicans get back in power (IF EVER).
We must take back control of the Congress and take puppets like Hank Johnson and other Democrats out of Obama's hands.
If this law was needed, it should be examined, however, this administration has been the most secretive and non communicative in modern history. Why would they want to expose any information that they them selves will not even comment on?
Methinks this is another McCain/Finegold trap.
Lastly, start keeping lists of the folks how vote for this 1930's suppression of truth
This just another way for them to show disrespect to the U.S. citizens.
"WE" need to know who he supports.

Likely the biggest decision to be made this weekend by delegates to the State Convention of the Republican Party of Texas is the selection of the State Party Chair. As most of you are likely aware, there are three candidates running for the position:
CATHIE ADAMS (http://cathieadamsfortexas.com/) is the current Chair of the Republican Party of Texas and former leader of Texas Eagle Forum (http://www.texaseagle.org/), an organization dedicated to 'progress through preservation of traditional values.'
TOM MECHLER (http://www.tommechler.com/), current Vice Chairman of the Texas Board of Criminal Justice (http://www.tdcj.state.tx.us/tbcj/tbcj-home.htm), describes himself as "a conservative whose philosophy is inspired by Christian principles."
STEVE MUNISTERI (http://www.stevemunisteri.com/) is best known as the founder of Young Conservatives of Texas (http://www.yct.org/), a student-driven organization dedicated to 'preservation of the American Dream and a strong and free America.'
Each of you who may be serving as a delegate is encouraged to LISTEN to all the candidates, LEARN all you can, and use your God-given brains to make the very BEST DECISION you can about this important race.
For more information, the following is a collection of additional blog posts and news articles on the race for RPT Chair:

by As Linda Sue eluded, Cathie was on stage at the Perry/Palin Rally in Houston during the Primary. I'm not sure she "endorsed" Perry, but she came close.
There's no perfect candidate in this race, IMHO. I will be happy with either of the gentlemen.
The Party has a Platform. That Platform pretty much includes everything the Tea Party is supposed to support, though we're working on Term Limits. FYI, Steve has been quoted as saying that he believes changing the rules to implement term limits is illegal (which I firmly believe in completely incorrect due to the Kucinich case), but he'll implement whatever the Body believes is the correct course of action.
The Texas Republican Party desparately needs a true Constitutional Conservative leader with strong driven dedications to fix what is wrong and take the Texas GOP forward in a real positive direction.
Steve Munisteri is that leader for these very difficult times if not crisis times. Steve has the insights, the experience, the ability and sheer mega dedication for this task. As an alternate delegate looking forward to being a delegate, Steve Munisteri has my vote.
For some reason I keep feeling like being part of the DTP is analogous to RSVP'ing to a fundamentalist church social, only to discover upon arriving at the event that it's a drunken, drugs-and-sex orgy.
Maybe it's time to look for another church.
Unfortunately, our country's two-party oligarchical, plutocratic kleptocracy has proven time and time again that trusting *either* party to move one inch toward constitutional originalist principles is as foolish as Charlie Brown trusting Lucy to hold the football on the ground for him to kick. Deluding ourselves into believing that Tea Party activists will ever be permitted to "take over" and control the national Republican Party is equally foolish.
Take a lesson from history and the genesis of the Republican Party or look to recent history and the power and influence of alternative parties in the U.K. Attempting to commandeer the Republicrat Party is a complete waste of precious time, energy and money. You might as well pull your fiddle out of its case and play a little ditty while the flames grow ever higher.
You could try looking to the primogenitor of the Republican Party, "Honest" Abe Lincoln. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who wouldn't agree that good ol' Abe made one helluva change in this country.
Adams has a long, proven history with Texas Eagle Forum as a solid Conservative. No question about it. The main concern about her is whether she is a good administrator and the fact that she gave large raises to the staff & director during these hard economic times. Good concerns that she needs to address. Also, for me, the strong probability that she voted for Perry. She wasn't asked.
Mechler was on a roll and I was really impressed with his responses UNTIL he stated he was for a "Guest Worker Program". That ended my enthusiasm. Those 3 words for all intents and purposes are code words(IMO) for amnesty.
Munisteri was on point with excellent answers and to date I was leaning heavily in his direction UNTIL asked who he voted for in the Primary. Answer: Kay Bailey Hutchison. My enthusiasm for him quickly withered and I question how really solid a conservative he
by She has served on the Platform committee of 3 National conventions and she knows how the games are played. She has been there to fight back against the moderate/liberal Republicans in office, and in the Party. The other 2 people who are running are flat out RINO's, but unless you've been part of the conservative 'inside' of the Party you would never know that. They are camouflaged well, and have the conservative jargon down. You just need to know who all the candidates associate with.
Steve has excellent fund-raising ideas.
He is strict constituionalist; Once Party in good financial, will work to impress TX politicians to bring Powers given to us by Constitution "back home".
Always has been against Amnesty and is against Sanctuary Cities.
Believes Medina was ALSO excelent candidate; became familiar w/her "better" "after" the primary.
R.Party in Financial trouble; Steve started & sold successful law firm with 49 employees.
"The Republican Party should practice what it preaches." "Also, it needs to welcome the Tea Party and Other groups with "open arms". the Tea Party exists, because the Republican Party Leadership has let people down."
Participated in more than 50 Campaigns; has shown that he is willing to work hard for right values.
One of the aspects of Obama's campaign that struck me the most was how many young people voted for him just because they seemed to be caught up in his rhetoric. Duh! Anyway, I have heard from a few younger democrats that they are now embarassed and sorry that they voted for him. Maybe Steve can reach voters like that as well.
To everyone, I say get involved, however you can. Pick a candidate that will be running in November, and do all you can to support his or her campaign.
Fellow Common Sense Citizens and Tea Party Patriots:
When the people of Arizona came under HEAVY FIRE for their support of our nation's immigration laws, the people of Texas rose to Stand With Arizona.
For that, you have and fully deserve the sincere thanks of the people of Arizona. We lost count of how many Arizonans asked us to relay their heartfelt gratitude back to all the people of Texas who have been supporting them and continue to support them in this fight.
As we moved around the ballpark on Saturday night in Tempe, we were continually being surprised by the familiar faces of fellow Texans who traveled out to Arizona to show their support. Those of you who traveled out to volunteer deserve a special thanks.

For those of you who didn't make it to the rally, you missed quite an event! We caught up with some of our old friends, and made some new ones. Phillip Dennis' wife Victoria delivered a heartfelt and inspiring message to the crowd in Spanish, with Phillip translating. Mark Spencer, President of the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association, laid out the heavy human cost of illegal immigration:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnbEOm-qEJM
Los Angeles civil rights activist Ted Hayes brought the crowd to their feet more than once with his call to action:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJWewbnhqrc
Our good friend AlfonZo Rachel showed up as an unexpected surprise, so we grabbed him and made him share a few impromptu remarks to the crowd:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SwwsjXUsL4
We even had a visit from The Incredible Hulk!

As far as media coverage goes, we almost could not have asked for better media coverage of our event. Media coverage included pieces in CNN, FOX, MSNBC, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, TONS of posts on blogs and websites, and many hits in the local Arizona media. A partial list is posted here:
http://standwitharizona.org/3486/
The Stand With Arizona Rally simply would not have been possible without your help. Thanks to your help, the event was a HUGE success. According to estimates, the Stand With Arizona Rally on May 29th contributed between $800,000 and $1.4 million to the local Phoenix economy, owing to the money spent by the attendees over the course of the weekend. Additionally, we collected $6,200.00 in donations to benefit the families of fallen Border Patrol officers.
To all of you who helped make this happen, again, THANK YOU!!!
I am a member of the Dallas Tea Party and somehow I am not receving an events schedule. Pls let me know if I need to do something to get on the emailing list. Wife and I are going to DC in August to Glenn Becks August 28th event at the Washington Monument & Lincoln Memorial. I am an adiment Tea Party Supporter and especially with the continus violation of Texas, New Mexico and Arizona Borders. There is absolutely NO reason to try to deal with the illegals in our country until the borders are completely closed. Stopping the illegals entering this country will go a very long way to solving one of our countries major problems. Thank you for the Dallas Tea Party Organization and what is being done to dump this Corrupt Democratic/Musliam/Jew Haters Administration. James S McDaniel Richardson, TX
I then subsequently wrote to the Mayor and Council Members of San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth and Governor Perry and basically told them how I felt about Austin%u2019s position, copied the note I wrote to Austin which stated that we as Texans must make a stand and that James Bowie, Colonel Travis, Davy Crocket and the rest of the men that defended the Alamo would roll over in their graves if they found that we weren%u2019t supportive of Arizona%u2019s position.
Bottom line, I 100% support Arizona as both a Conservative and a Texan and feel that all Texans must support Arizona up to and including our Governor - without question!<
Let's keep standing with Arizona!
I guess you could call it un-boycotted. I sure would like to see a compilation of Arizona companies, followed by a list (not necessarily a petition) of those of us who will vow to buy from AZ companies whenever there is a choice.
As a matter of fact, I think I'm going to plan a vacation to AZ this year and take a lot of my money to spend there.
It might speak volumes if we answered the boycott with a resounding resolve to spend our dollars on AZ anywhere and everywhere we can!!!
Here are some I took with my phone: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=216851&id=761148055&l=f9cd7b528b
Are there any others?
We all are conscious you are a bunch of 40 year old Caucasian males, with a 6 finger income. Please stop saying you speak for "The People," and stop making Texas another distasteful joke with your Obama-Hating agenda. Smaller government is what you cry about? The state of Arizona just passed legislation as I'm sure you've heard, which allows government to stretch its hand even further. Why is it you throw fits over legislation to help less fortunate Americans? But when legislation shows up reciting your values you vanish? Tea Party, you are the laughing stock of the U.S. and an embarrassment to hard working middle class Texas families. Because truth is (like the new york times discovered) you are a dying breed, and your children are appalled by your disgraceful antics. So please, stay gone. Texas is better off without you, go protest in Thailand where it is needed. Shame on all of you.
I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and my website. My name is Shawn Roberts and for over a decade now I have been actively taking action and protesting against what, in my opinion, is a federal government gone mad. I am an avid history buff and a PROUD American who values personal Freedom & Liberty right up there with God & Country and like our founding fathers, I would risk my life in the defense of it. I'm an active member of the Tea Party movement.
In addition to talking to anyone who would listen, attending rallies, calling & emailing my Congressmen on a never-ending basis and Facebooking & Twittering myself to death in support of conservative values, I also founded the website www.GadsdenFlagsAndMore.com for individual conservatives & Tea Party groups seeking an affordable resource for tea party and Gadsden flags.
I began flying the Gadsden Flag outside my home three years ago. Many don't know it, but the Gadsden flag has been wide

The deficits that are the inescapable results of this regime will dwarf all that came before them.
Fact: The highest budget deficit so far came from a liberal controlled congress.
Fact: The mythological "35 million" number the left contineues to lie about includes 10-15million illegal aliens, several million who already qualified for other programs (also of questionable Constitutional standing) and several million more could reasonably afford insurance and CHOSE not to buy it. They were nothing more than a bunch of PUNKS shouting out about the oooooohhhh 911 TRUTHERS! by On Thursday, an urgent, last-minute call went out to the nation : COME TO WASHINGTON. JOIN US ON CAPITOL HILL. HELP US STAND AGAINST SOCIALIZED MEDICINE.
When the call went out, those of us involved in spreading the word had no idea how many Americans would show up. We were hoping for a few thousand, but with the incredibly short notice, we really didn't know what to expect.
When we arrived on Capitol Hill on Saturday morning, a crowd of perhaps a few thousand had already gathered.
In the last hours before the rally, a steady stream of patriots marched in. By noon, THIRTY THOUSAND PATRIOTS had arrived on Capitol Hill to tell Washington, in no uncertain terms, that we the people WILL NOT BE BULLIED INTO SOCIALISM.

If you listen to the alphabet networks, they'll tell you there were 'hundreds' on the West Lawn of the Capitol. We were there. We saw the crowd of TENS OF THOUSANDS with our own eyes... [MORE BELOW]

by Small Government, we don't need the government telling us how to live every aspect of out lives. Social Security, Medicare? Give back all the money I've put in I will gladly get out of the Ponzi scheme. Seems the govt. won't allow it.
Lower taxes. You can't get blood from a turnip. We have enough taxes, the govt needs to reduce the entitlement programs (welfare, food stamps, generational gimme-my-gobment-check. Stop this insane Health Care bill that will add so much cost most people will be FORCED into the govt exchange.
Personal responsibility. Stop living off the Govt. dole. Goes back to the entitlement programs, people need to take some responsibility for the choices they make in life. There is no guarantee of sucess just the opportunity for it. If you take the risk, you pay the price. Which leads to the next...
Stop the bailouts. Every day it's another one. Just recently Greece, now Freddie Mac is back for $6.4Billion.

Another headline, about a Former Bush aid slamming Republicans, Democrats find new ground on abortion, How heath care will succeed by Tom Harkin, Their cause prevailed but Bishops lost. Those are just this morning's AOL head lines, so here comes the propaganda to keep the drones in line.
And another thing, AOL has recently been updating their response columns "to make it better", so you can't respond. Those stories from other sources, that do allow responses, are about five to one with a negative view on anything BHO does.

Republicans%u2019 jelly-spined opposition has put us at a disadvantage many times in the past when we had good opportunities (e.g. Clinton impeachment) to steer the government and country back where it belongs.
This fall is a pivotal moment in our history. Obama and his apparatchiks have shown first-hand what socialist policies do to a country, doing us a huge favor. Conservatives MUST take advantage of it to elect conservatives and demonstrate decisively the differences between socialism and capitalism.
The NRSC's charter is to help re-elect incumbents, but John Cornyn must know where the NRSC should be passive so the GOP put forth as many conservative Republican candidates as
This is probably the first election cylce where there has been much "push back" against the party's annointed choices. Remember that the party bullied/bribed the challengers to Ralph Hall's first Republican primary out of running against him. Not much was said about it. Reportedly, the national party promised that no one would run against him if he switched parties. No one bothered to ask the republicans of Rockwall county, however. In the end, the guys dropped out.
They have long chosen our representatives. We're just now starting to gripe about the process. We have to keep moving forward. It's not an instant process. Let them know the new rules.

Has anyone with the Texas Tea Party group actually tried to visit personally with the senator and figure out exactly where his head is right now? Maybe Cornyn is a closet elitist who detests those of us in the Great Unwashed, but somehow I doubt it. I would like to know what is going on.
My anti-stress catch phrase that I coined to deal with the tomfoolery and mooncalves on the left who are wetting their pants in terror of the up and coming enema that DC is about to get goes as follows...
